In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful.
1. By the aligners aligning.
2. And the drivers driving.
3. And those conveying the message.
4. Your God is certainly One.
5. Lord of the heavens, the earth, and everything between them, and Lord of the sunrises.
6. We adorned the nearest heaven with the beauty of stars.
7. And as a protection from every defiant devil.
8. They can’t eavesdrop on the Highest Assembly, for they get pelted from every side.
9. Repelled, they will face perpetual torment.
10. Except for one who snatches a snatch; he is pursued by a piercing flame.
11. Ask them, “Are they more difficult to create, or those We created?” We created them from sticky clay.
12. Yet you are amazed, and they mock.
13. When reminded, they pay no heed.
14. When they see a sign, they mock.
15. And they say, “This is nothing but apparent magic.
16. When we are dead and have become dust and bones, will we be resurrected?
17. And our ancient ancestors as well?”
18. Say, “Yes, and you’ll be subdued.”
19. It will be just a single shout, and behold, they will be staring.
20. They will exclaim, “Woe to us! This is Judgement Day.”
21. “This is the Day of Separation, which you used to deny.”
22. Round up those who did wrong, their partners, and what they used to worship.
23. Apart from God, and guide them to the way to Hell.
24. But stop them, for they are to be questioned.”
25. What’s the matter with you that you don’t help each other?
26. But, on this day, they will be in submission.
27. And they will turn on one another, blaming each other.
28. Some will say, “You used to come to us from the right.”
29. The others will respond, “No, you yourselves were not believers.
30. We had no authority over you; you were a transgressing people.
31. So now the word of our Lord has come true against us. We are tasting it.
32. We seduced you; we were seducers.”
33. On that Day, they will share in the punishment.
34. This is how We deal with sinners.
35. When they were told, “There is no god but God,” they exhibited arrogance.
36. And they said, “Shall we leave our gods for a mad poet?”
37. He came with the truth and confirmed the messengers.
38. You will surely taste the severe punishment.
39. And you will only be recompensed for what you used to do.
40. Except for the chosen servants of God.
41. For them, there will be a known provision.
42. Fruits, and they will be honored.
43. In the Gardens of Delights.
44. On thrones, facing one another.
45. A cup filled with a drink of pure pleasure will be passed among them.
46. Crystal-clear, delicious to those who drink.
47. Causing neither headache nor intoxication.
48. And with them will be women restraining their glances.
49. As though they were protected pearls.
50. They will approach one another, inquiring of each other.
51. A speaker among them will say, “I had a close companion.
52. Who would say, ‘Are you among those who believe?
53. That when we die and become dust and bones, we will be held accountable?’”
54. He will then ask, “Would you care to look?”
55. He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire.
56. He exclaimed, “By God, you nearly led me astray!
57. If not for the mercy of my Lord, I would’ve been among those presented.”
58. “We are not to die.
59. Except for our first death, and we aren’t to be punished.”
60. Indeed, this is the great achievement.
61. For such, let the workers work.
62. Isn’t this a better hospitality than that of the Tree of Bitterness?
63. We made it an ordeal for the unjust.
64. It’s a tree that sprouts from the core of Hellfire.
65. Its buds are like the heads of devils.
66. From it, they will eat and fill their stomachs.
67. Then, they will have a mixture of scalding brew.
68. Then, their return will be to the flaming Inferno.
69. They found their ancestors astray.
70. And they rushed upon their footsteps.
71. Most of the earlier generations before them had also deviated.
72. Even though We had sent warners among them.
73. See, then, the end of those who were warned.
74. Except for the sincere servants of God.
75. When Noah implored Us—excellent indeed are We in answering!
76. We saved him and his family from the great disaster.
77. We made his descendants to be those who remained.
78. And We preserved his story for those who would come later.
79. Peace be upon Noah among all the nations.
80. Thus, do We reward those who do good.
81. He was one of Our faithful servants.
82. Then We drowned the others.
83. And among his descendants was Abraham.
84. When he approached his Lord with a sound heart.
85. He asked his father and his people, “What do you worship?
86. Do you prefer false idols over God?
87. What’s your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds?”
88. He then gazed at the stars.
89. And he said, “I feel unwell.”
90. So they turned away from him, retreating.
91. He turned towards their gods and said, “Do you not eat?”
92. What is with you that you don’t speak?”
93. He then launched a strike against them with his right hand.
94. They approached him, rushing toward him.
95. He countered, “Do you worship what you carve?
96. While it is God who created you and all that you make?”
97. They responded, “Build a furnace for him, and throw him into the flames.”
98. So they hatched a scheme against him, but We made them the inferiors.
99. He said, “I will be departing to my Lord; He will guide me.”
100. “My Lord, grant me righteous offspring.”
101. So We gave him the good news of a forbearing son.
102. When he was old enough to work with him, he said, “O my son, I saw in a dream that I’m sacrificing you, so see what you think?” He replied, “O my father, do as you’re commanded; you will find me, if God wills, one of the patient.”
103. And when they had submitted, he put him down upon his forehead.
104. But We called out to him, “O Abraham!
105. You have fulfilled the vision.” Thus, do We reward those who do right.
106. That was a significant test.
107. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice.
108. And We left for him favorable mention among later generations.
109. Peace be upon Abraham.
110. Thus do We reward those who do good.
111. He was one of Our faithful servants.
112. And We gave him the good news of Isaac, a prophet, one of the righteous.
113. We blessed him and Isaac. However, some are righteous among their descendants, while some clearly wrong themselves.
114. We also favored Moses and Aaron.
115. We saved them and their people from the great calamity.
116. We supported them, and they emerged as victors.
117. We gave them the Scripture that sheds light.
118. And We guided them on the straight path.
119. We left for them a favorable mention among later generations.
120. Peace be upon Moses and Aaron.
121. Thus do We reward those who do good.
122. They were among Our believing servants.
123. Elijah was also one of the messengers.
124. When he said to his people, “Will you not embrace righteousness?
125. Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators?
126. God is your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors.”
127. But they rejected him, and they will be apprehended.
128. Except for God’s chosen servants.
129. We left for him a favorable mention among later generations.
130. Peace be upon Elijah.
131. Thus do We reward those who do good.
132. He was one of Our believing servants.
133. And Lot was among the messengers.
134. We saved him and his entire family.
135. Except an elderly woman who was among those left behind.
136. Then We destroyed the rest.
137. You pass by them in the morning.
138. And at night. Will you not then reflect?
139. Jonah was also among the messengers.
140. When he fled onto the laden ship.
141. He gambled and lost.
142. A whale swallowed him, and he was to blame.
143. Had he not been of those who praised.
144. He would’ve remained in its belly until the Day they’re raised.
145. Then We threw him into the open, and he was ill and weak.
146. And We made a gourd plant grow over him.
147. Then, We sent him to a hundred thousand or more.
148. They believed, so We gave them enjoyment for some time.
149. Now ask them their opinion: “Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?”
150. Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnessing?
151. They are speaking from their conjecture when they say.
152. “God has begotten.” They are liars, definitely.
153. Does He prefer daughters over sons?
154. What’s the matter with you? How do you judge?
155. Won’t you reflect?
156. Or do you have clear authority?
157. Then produce your scripture, if you are truthful.
158. And they made up a relationship between Him and the jinn, yet the jinn know well that they will be summoned.
159. Exalted is God, above what they describe.
160. Except for God’s select servants.
161. Neither you nor those you worship.
162. Can’t seduce away from Him.
163. Except those destined for Hell’s embrace.
164. “There is none among us but has a known position.
165. We are those who stand in rows.
166. And we are the praisers.”
167. And they used to say.
168. “If we had a sermon from the ancients.
169. We would’ve been God’s faithful servants.”
170. Yet, they disbelieved it; they will soon come to know.
171. Our word has already been conveyed to Our chosen servants.
172. Definitely, they are the ones who will be victorious.
173. Surely, Our forces will be the victors.
174. So leave them for a while.
175. Observe, they will soon witness.
176. Are they eager for Our punishment?
177. When it descends on their yard, how terrible will be the morning for those who were warned.
178. So turn away from them for a while.
179. And watch; they soon will see.
180. Praised is your Lord, the Lord of Glory, beyond their description.
181. And peace be upon the messengers.
182. And praise be to God, the Lord of the universes.
